Best Golf Swing Analyzer Apps 2026: 9 Apps Compared, Free and Paid
Nine golf swing analyzer apps for iPhone and Android compared in October 2026: free and paid options, capture, analysis, live feedback, speed, privacy and price.
Updated October 2026 for DeepSwing 3.3 on iPhone and 1.4 on Android.
A year ago most swing apps were slow-motion players with a line tool. That has changed. Several apps now find the swing on their own, cut the clip, score it and talk to you between balls. The differences are in the details: what exactly gets measured, whether the app works on Android, whether your videos have to go to a server, and what you pay for it.
We went through the apps a golfer actually runs into when searching the App Store or Google Play in autumn 2026. Every competitor fact below comes from the app's own store listing, website or help center as of 4 October 2026. Prices change by country and over time, so treat them as a snapshot.
The short answer: if you want the app itself to tell you what is wrong and what to do next, on iPhone or Android, DeepSwing is the most complete package right now. If you mainly want a human coach, 3D body data, or a GPS and scorecard app with a swing feature on the side, there are better fits, and we say which.
If you want to try the pick first: DeepSwing is on the App Store and Google Play, and the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial.
The picks at a glance
- Best overall: DeepSwing. Hands-free capture, automatic analysis on the phone, spoken feedback, clubhead and ball speed from video, golf rounds, a training plan. iPhone, Apple Watch and Android.
- Best voice feedback alternative on iPhone: Swing Coach by Swing Intelligence.
- Most named faults and a free tier: GolfFix.
- Best for 3D body data: Sportsbox 3D Golf.
- Best for working with a human coach: V1 Golf.
- Best for teaching pros and launch monitor owners: Onform.
- Best for instant replay on the range: Swing Profile.
- Best if you mostly want GPS and a scorecard: 18Birdies.
- Best for a coach-led plan from down-the-line video: Mustard.
How we judged them
We cared about the things that decide whether you still open an app after the third range session:
- Capture: can you set the phone down and just hit balls, or do you walk back after every swing to press record and trim?
- Diagnosis: does the app tell you what went wrong and which fix comes first, or does it hand you a drawing tool and wish you luck?
- Feedback while you practice: do you hear something useful before the next ball, or do results arrive minutes later?
- Speed: does it measure clubhead or ball speed, and does that need extra hardware?
- Beyond the range: does any of this follow you onto the course?
- Platforms and privacy: Android support, watch support, and whether your swing videos are uploaded for the analysis.
- Price for what you actually get.

1. DeepSwing: best overall
DeepSwing is built around one loop: film a swing, find the one thing that costs you the most, train it, and check on the next video whether it changed. What sets it apart in 2026 is how little you have to do to keep that loop running.
Capture without walking back to the phone
You have four ways in. Record is the classic one with a countdown, a trim and a club picker. 1 Swing is hands-free: the app recognizes whether you filmed face-on or down-the-line, arms itself once you stand still at the ball, records without a countdown, stops after the finish, trims the clip and analyzes it. Multi Swing is the range mode: pick the view and club once, then keep hitting. Every swing is saved as its own swing and analyzed in a background queue while you tee up the next ball. And you can import any video from your photo library.
What it measures
DeepSwing finds the six phases (setup, backswing, top, downswing, impact, finish) and runs more than 20 checks, about 15 per camera view. Spine angle, hip turn, sway, head movement, hand depth, flying elbow, early extension, hanging back, shaft lean, casting, over the top and tempo are all in there. Swing plane, over the top, shaft lean and casting are measured from the detected clubhead path, not only from where your body is.
The checks have real numbers behind them. A face-on tempo ratio between 2:1 and 4:1 passes. Your hips should have moved at least 0.06 shoulder widths toward the target by impact, or you are hanging back. From down-the-line, early extension fails once you lose more than 0.18 shoulder widths of hip depth by the delivery position. You see your value next to the band, so a "fail" is never a mystery.
The Swing Score comes with a breakdown of where points were won and lost, and the analysis links the pattern to the ball flight it usually causes: slice, hook, push, pull, fat or thin. On down-the-line clips the swing trail draws the backswing in blue, the downswing in yellow, the follow-through in violet and the ball flight in red, which makes an over-the-top move obvious even to a beginner.
Feedback before the next ball
Live Coach shows the pose overlay while you swing and talks to you between balls: the score, the most important fix with one thing to do on the next swing, and up to two short tips. It uses plain words and your real left and right, based on the handedness in your profile. On iPhone it adds haptics, runs from the Apple Watch, and can stream the session to a second iPhone or iPad, which is handy when a coach or friend is watching.
Speed without a radar
DeepSwing measures clubhead and ball speed at impact from a face-on video and keeps a speed history per club. No radar, no sensor. It needs a high frame rate: on iPhone every capture mode records at 120 or 240 fps, so speed just works. On Android, use Record or the hands-free Speed button with the rear camera; the other Android modes film at 60 fps and show no speed. More on the golf swing speed page.
Golf rounds
New in iPhone 3.3 and Android 1.4: take DeepSwing onto the course. Start a 9 or 18 hole round, find the course by GPS or type its name, and set how many practice swings to skip. Every real shot after that is saved, analyzed in the background and filed under its hole, with a Swing Score per hole and per round. The iPhone shows the round on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, Android in a notification with a record button, and the Apple Watch can control the round. This is the honest test of practice: does your range swing hold up on the 14th tee? No other app in this list analyzes the swing of every real shot during a round.
Training and the rest
The Training Coach builds a weekly plan from three questions (goal, equipment, level), every check has drill videos with step-by-step instructions, and there is golf fitness work for common aches. A seven-chapter guide teaches beginners how to film and how to read the score. Club fitting uses your measured speeds. History groups swings into sessions, with favorites, filters and side-by-side compare. On iPhone there are widgets for score, last swing, focus, streak, round and speed.
Privacy, platforms, price
The analysis runs on the phone, and your swing videos are not uploaded for it. DeepSwing is on iPhone and iPad (plus Apple Watch) and on Android, in 18 languages, for right- and left-handed golfers. Recording, importing and the analysis itself are free; the full results, Live Coach, rounds, compare and export come with Pro. Eurozone reference prices in October 2026: 59.99 EUR a year with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, 9.99 EUR a month, or 149.99 EUR once for Lifetime.
Where it falls short
- No free full analysis anymore. You see results with Pro or during the trial.
- No 3D body numbers like X-factor or a kinematic sequence chart. Sportsbox and Onform go deeper there.
- No marketplace of human coaches. V1 Golf and 18Birdies sell lessons inside the app.
- Not a GPS app: no yardages, no hole maps, no handicap tracking.
- Android has no watch app and no widgets yet, and speed works in Record and Speed mode only.
The fastest way to see whether it suits you: install DeepSwing for iPhone or Android, start the trial, put the phone on a tripod 2 to 3 meters (7 to 10 feet) away at hip height, and hit five balls with 1 Swing. Then open the most important fix and look at the number next to its band.
2. Swing Coach: the voice feedback alternative on iPhone
Swing Coach by Swing Intelligence (App Store) launched in March 2025 and grew fast. You set the phone up and swing, and the app tracks body and clubhead on the device and tells you one thing right after each swing, through AirPods if you like. Since version 2.0 in March 2026 it handles face-on as well as down-the-line. It also points you to video lessons from well-known YouTube coaches for your main issue.
The limits: it is iPhone only. Android development is paused and the company hopes for 2027. No speed measurement is listed. Its privacy policy says recordings stay on the device unless you turn on sync, but numeric swing measurements go to Google Cloud for every swing. It costs 14.99 USD a month or 119.99 USD a year in the US store, 129.99 EUR a year in Germany. If you are on iPhone and only want a voice in your ear, it is a real option. If you want speed, rounds, a training plan or Android, DeepSwing covers more.
3. GolfFix: the longest fault list
GolfFix says it identifies more than 45 swing issues, each with an explanation and a fix, (App Store listing), and it splits the swing into 8 steps with rotation and tilt values. Since 2026 it draws the club and wrist trajectories in separate colors, records several swings with a combined report, and offers shot-fix lessons for slice, hook, push, pull, fat, topping, skying, shank and toe strikes. A free "Assistant Coach" still analyzes swings, with ads.
What you don't get: speed measurement, anything on the course, or an Apple Watch app, and the listing advertises 60 fps video, nothing higher. Swing videos can sync to its servers, and the App Store privacy label lists identifiers used for tracking. The Advanced Plan costs 14.99 USD a month or 99.99 USD a year (99.99 EUR in Germany). Our detailed GolfFix vs DeepSwing comparison goes through it point by point.
4. Sportsbox 3D Golf: best for 3D body data
Sportsbox builds a 3D model of your body from one phone video and gives you numbers few consumer apps match: chest and pelvis turn, X-factor, sway, lift, thrust and a kinematic sequence, compared with ranges from elite players. It measures maximum clubhead speed from a face-on slow-motion video and connects to Foresight launch monitors for ball data. In April 2026 a group led by Bryson DeChambeau bought the company, and an AI assistant called SAMI went into beta in September.
It asks more of you. You need slow-motion video and a tripod, the free plan stops at 5 swings a month, and swings are uploaded to the cloud. On Google Play the app is written for coaches and rated poorly. 3D Player costs 109.99 USD a year in the US App Store (123.99 EUR in Germany). For a data-minded golfer on iPhone it is excellent. For "tell me what to fix and give me a drill", it is more than most people need.
5. V1 Golf: best for working with a human coach
V1 Golf has been around since 2010 and is the app many teaching pros already use. Its strength is people: you can send swings to your own coach, or buy a coaching membership inside the app (100 USD a month for four analyzed videos, 250 USD a month for unlimited). The model swing library with PGA, LPGA and LIV players is the biggest in this list. The paid Advanced V1sion tier adds a skeleton overlay, hand trace and ball trace, on iOS only.
The analysis itself is mostly yours to do: V1 gives you tools and overlays, not a score or a ranked fault list. You need an account, sessions are saved to the cloud (see the V1 help center), and the app is in English only. V1 GOLF+ is 9.99 USD a month or 69.99 to 79.99 USD a year depending on where you buy, Advanced V1sion 119.99 USD a year. Read our V1 Golf vs DeepSwing comparison if a human coach is part of your plan.
6. Onform: best for teaching pros and launch monitor owners
Onform is a coaching platform first. Coaches get messaging, voice-over, teams and a web app; players get Auto-Detect recording, up to four camera angles, external cameras and launch monitor data from Garmin R10, Garmin R50 or Full Swing KIT next to each video. Its markerless 3D analysis comes with a published accuracy table and a kinematic sequence, mostly from face-on video for now.
On Android the app is much weaker (no Auto-Detect, no 3D, according to the Onform user guide). There is no automatic fault list or score, and videos are backed up to Onform's cloud. Athlete plans run from 9.99 USD a month to 149.99 USD a year, coach plans up to 59.99 USD a month. More in our DeepSwing vs Onform comparison.
7. Swing Profile: best for instant replay
Swing Profile does one thing very well: it notices your swing, trims it to two seconds and plays it back in slow motion before you have teed up the next ball. It draws swing plane lines, tracks the ball, detects sway and builds a swing sequence. Version 15 arrived in September 2026 as a full rebuild, with two-camera recording on iPad and a plan for golf schools.
It does not tell you what is wrong or measure speed, so it suits golfers who can read their own swing, or a coach standing next to them. The free tier keeps your 3 latest recordings. Elite is 7.99 USD a month or 79.99 USD a year in the current App Store text, while the website pricing page shows other numbers. Our Swing Profile vs DeepSwing comparison compares the two capture workflows side by side.
8. 18Birdies: best if you mainly want GPS and a scorecard
18Birdies is first a course app: free GPS yardages for more than 45,000 courses, scorecard, handicap, stats and shot tracking, with Apple Watch and Wear OS. Its AI Swing Analyzer needs Premium and runs on their servers, so results come as a notification after a few minutes. It gives a Swing Rating, a top priority and drills. The September 2026 refresh with multi-swing recording and automatic trimming is iOS only. For a human look, a certified pro reviews a swing for 14.99 USD (19.99 USD without Premium).
Premium is 99.99 USD a year or 19.99 USD a month. If your main wish is yardages and a scorecard, it is the obvious pick. If the swing is the point, you will want faster and deeper feedback than a result several minutes later.
9. Mustard: a coach-led plan from down-the-line video
Mustard analyzes down-the-line videos, gives an overall score and a swing path score, and builds a daily drill plan with content from Mark Blackburn and Justin Rose. Its slow-motion drills (iOS) read your score aloud at a set position. The free tier shows the score and your main areas to improve. Videos are uploaded for the analysis, face-on is not supported according to its FAQ, and Premium is the priciest here at 24.99 USD a month or 149.99 USD a year (179.99 EUR in Germany).
Two more names you might see: Sparrow still ranks near the top of App Store search for "golf swing analyzer", but its App Store listing shows no update between November 2025 and the time of writing. CoachNow is a strong platform for coaches and academies, not a self-analysis app.

FAQ
What is the best golf swing analyzer app in 2026?
For most golfers who want automatic feedback, DeepSwing: it combines hands-free capture, on-phone analysis with real numbers, spoken feedback, speed from video, golf rounds and a training plan, on iPhone and Android. Pick V1 Golf for human coaching, Sportsbox for 3D data, or 18Birdies if GPS matters more than the swing.
Which swing analyzer apps work well on Android?
DeepSwing, GolfFix, V1 Golf, Swing Profile and 18Birdies all have Android apps. Watch the details: V1's AI tools and 18Birdies' new swing analyzer are iOS only, Onform's Android app lacks Auto-Detect and 3D, Sportsbox's Android listing is for coaches, and Swing Coach has no Android app at all. Our Android swing analyzer page covers DeepSwing on Android.
Can an app measure clubhead speed without a radar?
Yes, from a high frame rate face-on video. DeepSwing measures clubhead and ball speed at impact this way, and Sportsbox measures maximum clubhead speed from slow-motion video. The others in this list rely on a connected launch monitor or don't measure speed. A good launch monitor is still more precise, but for tracking your own trend a video measurement is enough.
Is there a good free golf swing analyzer?
Several apps have free tiers: Swing Profile (3 recordings), GolfFix (Assistant Coach with ads), Sportsbox (5 swings a month), Mustard (score and main areas) and V1 Golf (manual tools). With DeepSwing, recording and the analysis run free, and the 7-day trial of the yearly plan shows you the full results before you pay.
Do these apps upload my swing videos?
It varies. DeepSwing analyzes on the phone and does not upload your videos for it; Swing Coach also analyzes on the device. 18Birdies and Mustard analyze on their servers, and V1 Golf, Onform and Sportsbox store swings in the cloud. Check the privacy label in the App Store if this matters to you.
