How does the launch monitor work?
You put your iPhone on a tripod opposite you, on the far side of the ball. When you hit, the camera films at 240 frames per second, DeepSwing measures ball speed, launch angle and direction and calculates carry, total and the flight from them. Spin is estimated. You need no radar and no extra device.
Do I need sensors, radar or a launch monitor?
No. For the swing analysis your phone's camera is enough, DeepSwing estimates clubhead and ball speed from a face-on video. And with the launch monitor in DeepSwing, your iPhone becomes the launch monitor.
Is the golf GPS really free?
Yes, completely on iPhone: 12,000+ courses, distances to the front, middle and back, hazards, green heat map, scorecard and WHS handicap, with no trial and no round limit. For the Apple Watch you need a DeepSwing plan or the Apple Watch GPS plan, and your first round on the watch is free.
How do I film my swing?
Set your phone up steadily, either in front of you (face-on) or behind you on the target line (down-the-line). Your whole body and the club need to be in frame. The starter guide in the app shows you step by step.
Are my videos uploaded?
No, not for the analysis. The core analysis runs right on your device. Only what you export or share yourself is shared.
How do golf rounds work?
You start a 9- or 18-hole round, the GPS shows your distances and the scorecard keeps count. With the AI Coach you can film every real shot along the way: it is analyzed in the background and assigned to its hole.
Which devices are supported?
The AI Coach runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later and on Android phones with Android 10 or later. The launch monitor and golf GPS are on iPhone, Android is coming. Apple Watch is optional, and for the launch monitor you need a tripod.
Does DeepSwing work for left-handed golfers?
Yes. DeepSwing analyzes right- and left-handed golfers.
