Golf club distance appNew in 3.4

Know how far every club really goes.

Many golfers think their carry is longer than it is. The DeepSwing launch monitor measures real shots with your iPhone and collects the numbers per club: average carry, total, and how far your shots spread left and right, short and long. Ten balls per club and you have a yardage list you can trust on the course.

Per club

Your average, not your best shot.

Every shot is saved with its club. The session shows average carry and total per club and the spread from short to long and from left to right, so you plan with the shot you hit most of the time.

  • Averages per club
  • Spread short, long, left, right
  • Club chips as a filter

Dispersion

See where your misses go.

The view from above shows every landing spot of the session with the center line to your target. A pattern you never noticed on the course becomes obvious after twenty balls.

  • All shots at a glance

  • Center line to the target

Report

Your yardage card as a PDF.

Export a session as a PDF report or a CSV file, print it as a yardage card or send it to your coach or club fitter.

  • PDF and CSV
  • Per club and per session
  • History of every session

Gapping

Find the gaps in your bag.

With every club measured, gaps and overlaps show up at once: two clubs that carry the same, or a 20 yard hole between your pitching wedge and your 9-iron. That is when a look at your lofts or a new wedge pays off.

  • Every club's carry side by side
  • Ball speed and launch per club
  • A good start for a club fitting

Questions, answered

How far should I hit each club?

Tour players carry the 7-iron about 176 yards and the driver about 282 yards on average, according to TrackMan data from 2023. Most amateurs carry their 7-iron somewhere between 130 and 160 yards. The only number that helps is your own average over ten shots.

How many shots per club do I need?

Ten is a good start. Drop the best and the worst and take the average of the other eight.

Carry or total distance?

Carry, for every club except the driver. Bounce and roll change with every lie and every green, carry does not.

Indoors or at the range?

Both. Indoors, carry is calculated from the launch, like on most launch monitors.

Yards or meters?

Both. You choose yards or meters and mph or km/h.
